Binki be gone!

Binki's, man o man did i never think about how hard it would be to get my son off a binki. i have easly gotten my friends kids off them and pretty quickly too, but now i am in the driver seat and this is not easy! Do u know how easy it is when your in public and your son or daughter is screaming and crying because they cant communicate to you what they want or why they are upset and they have no clue as to what you are trying to tell them? Babys and parents speak 2 completly different languages that is for sure. So sure it is very easy to grab a binki and pop it in thier mouth and walla! the crying and screaming is done just like that o so easy. In the car they want out of that carseat that strappes them in ever so tightly. Binki please, Thank you peace and quiet now for the drive. These things are so addicting and not to the kids to the parents. And i thought i was bad. Anthony will give him one at the drop of a hat.

Now heres my day, i've been wanting him off the binki for a little bit now and i've gotten less and less binki use during the day, however somedays are better than others and if Nicholas finds a stashed binki there is no getting that thing out of his mouth. So this morning Nicholas wakes up and i go in his room to get him and he had no binki so i didnt look for it like i usually do and i grabbed him and we went down stairs. He didnt even notice "yes!" ok playing all day everything is going great. Nap time is here ok first hurdle we grab his froggy we grab his blanket and upstairs we go. "night night baby, nap time." i lay him down and shut the door and back down stairs i go to man the baby monitor. Nicholas usually doesnt cry at nap time he goes to sleep or talks for a few then sleeps today on the other hand he cried for about 15min and then finnally went to sleep with no binki!!

When he wonke up from his nap he didnt seem to want it at all. then daddy came home and we ran some errons and no binki in the car no crying or screaming either. Into the store we go, yes some crying and fight throwing but i didnt even put a binki in the diaper bag so i wasnt tempted. It was tough but i got through it. I was with my friend so we laughed it off since her daughter was a little fussy a couple times too. We made it back home with no more issues and then came bed time. did some of our night time routine and into bed he went. I went down stairs and the crying started and went fr almost 20 min-the whole time anthony was telling me go give him a binki, "no" i said, and i waited till it had been about 20min and i went up and cuddled him and he didnt want to go back in his crib so i did give him his binki but today was a huge step and i will try again tomorrow night at bed time and see how it goes.

River fun

Yesterday my sister and brother in law came over and we took nicholas to the river for the first time. After walking through the soccer feild on maple valley hwy to get to the trail that takes us to the river, we entered the trail i turned around and was walking backwards and i heard something so i turned and looks and a female deer pounced right there in front of my face SO close to me if i would have taken maybe 5 more steps she would have ran me over! and no my camera wasnt out and ready!

We continued on and got down to the river and Nicholas LOVED it!! The water was FREEZING! But my lil guy didnt care even when he fell in and it went up to his tummy, nope he stood right up and stayed standing in the river. We were in a spot that branched off and it was calm and shallow for him to play. he had a blast just standing in that freezing cold water and then on the edge of the water in the rocks, he threw rock after rock after rock into the water non stop fun for him. he picked up some pretty big rocks too.

Soon it was time to go, now the dilema, ok the way we got down to the river was a spot that isnt as easy to climb up, and we had to walk through thigh deep water to get to this spot so going back through this freezing river was not looking good. So we looked for a new way out. My brother in law found a big fallen tree and decided to take that back however it was too narrow and risky to take nicholas over, so i see a piece of land that had been washed away and the plastic under the ground was hanging and below that were roots a bunch of root, so i tell my personal training sister to climb it like a ladder, this spot was also just like a wall straight up no slant. Then i handed Nicholas up to her along with the diaper bag and my camera. now its my turn. can i climb this wall? yes i climb up i get to where i cant step on any more roots, i'm not as flexable as my sister so i cant swing my leg up onto the top. solution she grabs my hands and pulls. ok i can get my knee up now at this point we are laughing trying to get me to the top, i put my right hand down to push and what to u know it went right into sticker bushes! "OUCH" oh well i can move or i'll fall so i take the pain. ok she pulls more and i push and climb and i am at the top, sweet not as hard as we thought :-) my leg is nice and scratched up i have some stickers in my hand my sis got out for me, thank you sis. and we are good to go.

What a fun day at the river!!

heres a cute pic to enjoy

Bikes, Trikes & automobiles

Nicholas loves motorcycles and bikes and his lil quad he loves them all and riding them (not the motorcycles yet but he does love sitting on them) We went to Anthonys sister's today and brought her some things for her new baby, who will be here soon!, and while there Nicholas had a GREAT time with his cousins. he followed them all over the house he loves his family! he also jumped on Suzannes new bike-couldnt reach the pedals of course but he didnt care he loved it!- so his Aunt Amber gave him Suzannes old trike. Once we got home i took it out of the car and he hoped right on and daddy was pushing him, he laughed and just had a great time. Daddy helped nicholas go inside while pushing him on the trike, and i guess it broke down maybe a flat? Time to lear how to change a tire, never too early to start right?

mom i'm working here
hmmmm ok i see, theres the problem

I fixed it!

fun with cream of wheat

So Nicholas has gotten pretty god using a spoon and fork so i now just give him his food and let him go at it, i no longer feed him occasionally i will help him with a couple bites if i see he keeps dropping it but normally he does really good....yesterday i gave him oatmeal and he did great and when he was done he ran around then he wanted more and i was making cream of wheat for me so i gave him some, this being a different texture than oatmeal he started eating it and then feeling it and it was different so---i guess he decided to bag the spoon and try to eat this sloppy mess with fingers, fun times!

Whoops i kinda spilled mom

i'm all done mommy
